Instrument approach

Has anyone successfully used to experimental instrument approach feature? I can’t figure out how to set it up and have it fly an approach

Ed

Hi Ed, I tried a couple of times, and it did follow my xCruze laterally. If flying manually I don’t think the lateral indicators were very accurate to keep me on track to the runway. The xCruze did not follow vertically, but the FlightView has a dot on the VSI that shows the rate to the runway. I could adjust my xCruze to match the rate or manually, follow the dot. I didn’t spend a lot of time practicing approaches because I never intended to fly IFR.
I have replaced my system with a GRT Horizon 10.1 system. I kept updating when Steve would put out a new update and my system started having issues. In my opinion, Steve was bundling V2 and V3 updates together and they didn’t vibe, I kept crashing. I ended up going to the app store and installing an old version. Steve told me that the version on the app store had all the issues fixed, but I still had the same zoom crashing and no street map issues. I told Steve about it and he said he was going to put out new updates that would address the issues. That was in July of this year and I have not seen any update. Sorry to be negative but I’ve had enough of Steve.
If you need any spare parts, you can have them for shipping cost.

Happy New Year,

Hi again, I did”t answer your question. Did you download the plates? I cant remember how I got them From Steve. The USB scan drive needs to stay in the hub.

Ken

Thanks for the response Ken. Valuable input. I keep having various niggling issues as well. The street maps is one. Zooming frequently or repetitively still causes crashes. Steven at 2025 said he is going to a different map software that would address the issue but he has not yet.
Ed

By the way, yes I have the USB with the plates plugged in
